Q. I am trying to get my bussiness of the ground but I am struggling to get finacial help. I do not have a very good credit history. Everyone tells me my skill are graet and that my bussiness will be a success but I can't get the finance. I have a bussiness plan and have done evething such as finding premesis, getting equiptment etc I just don't know what to do or where to go.I make bespoke special occassion cakes, venue decore, balloon art etc. Do you have any sugestions or advice
A. Hi, we really sympathise with you, we set up the company when we found it near impossible to raise funds yet found out that Angels with lots of money where finding it difficult to find deals!
The good thing about Angel funding is that credit history or your past has little to do with it. If someone likes your idea - they like your idea and thats it! Q. What's the minimum investment that your business angels will invest and what is the type of equity they would expect in return for investment?
A. We get asked this a lot and the answer depends on the individual angel and what they consider the rewards will be.....which obviously depends on your Plan and vision.
Most are commercial are will not take a majority stake, thus leaving you with little incentive to continue. WE have financed deals for £6k and £5m, both of which came with 10% stakes.
